The C4C Story
Capital for Change is the direct result of the merger in 2016 of three established community development financial institutions with decades of combined experience – a testament to who we are together, today and for the future.
CommCap – Community Capital Fund
Serving the greater Bridgeport area since 2005, Community Capital Fund’s mission was to facilitate the flow of capital and expertise into housing and economic developments that benefited low and moderate income people.
GNHCLF – Greater New Haven Community Loan Fund
Founded as a private, not-for-profit organization in 1987, GNHCLF’s mission was to provide low-cost capital and technical assistance to alleviate the critical shortage of affordable housing in the Greater New Haven area.
CHIF – Connecticut Housing Investment Fund
In 1968, CHIF was incorporated with the goals of providing financing for affordable housing to help underserved households and defending human and civil rights in the housing market.
