Social Impact Investing

When you invest in Capital for Change, you strategically invest in Connecticut’s people and communities. Capital for Change blends a mission-driven lending philosophy with the financial savvy of a bank. We use our capital to create economic opportunity and strengthen low-wealth communities. Our investors include dozens of socially concerned individuals, banks and faith-based organizations, foundations and government, all of whom help us bring change and opportunity to communities across Connecticut.

Securing Our Future

We take great care to maintain reserves to protect investors’ money. Since 1987, our Social Impact Investment program has maintained a 100% repayment rate – plus interest – to our community of investors, and has made over $30 million in loans to affordable-housing developers and nonprofits in need. Investments in our loan fund are not FDIC-insured nor are they tax-deductible charitable gifts.
