Loan Servicing - Call Center Agent
Location: Hybrid remote in Wallingford, CT 06492

Narrative Summary of Position
The Loan Servicing ‘Call Center Agent’ is responsible for the daily handling of customer service and collections activities, including but not limited to the answering of inbound phone calls, and placing outbound collection calls. works under the supervision of the Call Center Supervisor to assist with the daily operations in the Default Management Division of the Loan Servicing Department.
Specific Responsibilities

Maintains customer service relations by answering loan customer and client attorney telephone inquiries; provides pay off instructions to attorneys, mortgage companies, and borrowers.

Direct point of contact for C4C’s clients, vendors, visitors, etc, via telephone communication as well as in-person contact in the main office lobby location (first floor of Wallingford).

Assists in processing daily loan payments to ensure timely posting to the borrowers’ accounts.

Enters comments in the system upon completion of the Customer Service or Collection-related calls. Assists customers with issues regarding their online account access on C4C’s website. Provides written loan account information upon written request

Updates and maintains Stops, Flags and Warnings on the system for their area of responsibility.

Daily collection calls for 2nd Mortgages and unsecured loans. Utilize all available skip tracing tools to locate borrower(s) whose contact information is inaccurate. Solicits payment(s) by phone and processes said payments utilizing LFN’s 1-time ACH functionality.

Serves as intermediary between customers and the Loan Servicing Operations staff;

Assists with other tasks as required to meet the daily operations and demands of C4C’s Loan Servicing Call Center
Core Competencies
-
Work related to mortgage loan servicing, collecting on past due payments, or other experience working in a customer service-related office specifically call-center/customer service activities (min. 2 years).

Familiarity with loan servicing terminology and practice, including investor, escrow, payoff, cashiering/ payment-processing, etc. Experience working in a team-oriented department that requires the daily tasks to be fulfilled in a timely manner.

Computer Software: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Benedict Group Inc Loans for .NET! (LFN) or similar window-based loan-servicing software.

Basic bookkeeping.

Must be fluent in English and Spanish and have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written correspondence.

Document & Release Specialist

NARRATIVE SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Document & Release Specialist works under the supervision of the Director of Loan Servicing to perform the daily tasks required of the file room, document, mail, and release functions of the Loan Servicing Department in the Wallingford office. This role is key to maintaining the integrity of C4C documentation and filing processes, handling the release of liens, processing mail deliveries, and ensuring that all loan-related documents, payments, and payoff checks are accurately scanned, and filed. This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, effective prioritization of tasks, and skillset managing both physical and digital documents in a fast-paced environment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Release of Lien Processing
• Manage and prepare lien releases on all paid in full loans, including release requests, duplicate release of liens requests, and duplicate release requests, adhering to the requirements per each investor’s contract, and regulatory deadlines. Research, retrieve and verify all loan documents and backup required for the preparation of such releases, and maintain accurate system documentation, including electronic copies and appropriate servicing system’s notes per C4C release procedures.
• Track all executed lien releases for various public and private investor clients; following up with City/Town Clerks to ensure the releases are recorded and the recorded release documents are received timely at C4C and correctly recorded. Maintain system record, ensuring electronic copies are stored and data entry of appropriate information into C4C servicing system.
Documentation Processing
• Maintain the filing of all loan agreements and all related loan documents by ensuring safety and secure filing of all original and recorded documents according to the investors’ requirements. Assist in storage organization, retention schedule, and reconciliation to ensure all required original and recorded documents are received. Convert paper documents into electronic formats and maintain electronic filing per C4C filing process.
• Input data into the loan servicing system and other databases and verify the accuracy of information. Maintain system records ensuring easy retrieval of documents and timely responses to requests from third parties, investors, audits, and internal departments.
Mail Processing
• Receive all incoming mail and packages including those from the USPS, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, etc.; process incoming mail and package deliveries following the requirements outlined in C4C incoming mail procedures and maintain an electronic log with scanned copies of all paper checks received per SOC1 audit requirements.
• Assist with monitoring the outgoing mail in the company’s outgoing mail drop off location to ensure they are picked up by the mailman.
• Prepare the Loan Servicing Department’s outgoing mail as required.
Other Duties
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned or required to meet the daily operations and demands of C4C’s Loan Servicing Department.
CORE COMPETENCIES
• Computer Software: MS Word, Excel, Crystal report writer, Loan Servicing software
• Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to use a basic calculator, scanner, copier, fax machine
• Communication: Must be fluent in English and can communicate effectively both verbally and in written correspondence. Additional fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
• General: Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage workload independently; strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing loan documents, mail and releases; excellent analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills, with high degree of tact and diplomacy; excellent organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information; ability to work through difficult and sensitive projects; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; flexibility to adapt to changes in workplace priorities; resourcefulness and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
• Thorough working knowledge of loan servicing, document management and ability to interpret and adhere to State, Federal, Investor & mortgage insurance regulations, at hire or within six months.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years’ work experience related to loan servicing , document management or other experience working in an administrative role or financial-related office. Experience working in a team-oriented department with operations requirements for daily task completion.
